P5 Space Biologists

P5 Space Biologists

Primary 5 became space biologists today as part of the Rocket Science experiment which schools from across the UK are involved in.

The project is designed to find out whether or not it is possible to grow our own food on other planets. The pupils have been given 2 packets of seeds - one of which has been to space with Tim Peake on the International Space Station. Today we had to plant the seeds. We will then have to measure their growth and record key data. At the end of the experiment we will upload our data to a national database and therefore be part of global scientific research.

The experiment will last for 6 weeks. Only after it is finished will we find out which seeds were in space and if it might be possible to grow our own food in space.

Keep watching out for updates on how our seeds are doing.
