Gardening fun

23rd Jan 2017

Primary 5 spent some time in the garden today. We planted some garlic bulbs and put out food for the birds. We also put out a weather station so that we can check on the temperature, the direction the wind is blowing and the amount of rainfall.

It is important to remember to take care of wildlife at this time of year. We are going to take part in the RSPB's Big Schools' Birdwatch and birds want to encourage to visit our garden. We hung birdfeeders with seeds in them as well as some containing fat balls. We also hung coconut shells filled with bird food and put food onto the bird table in the garden. We saw magpies and pigeons coming down to eat the food before we had even finished - I wonder what we will see when we do our birdwatch?
