Day and Night Topic in Primary One
This half term Primary One have been exploring day and night routines and learning about nocturnal animals. The home corner focused on activities at different times of the day and night. It even became the owls' home after reading the big book, 'Owl Babies' by Martin Waddell. The girls continued this theme into art, where they made 3D pictures using loose parts. They examined Van Gogh's painting, 'Starry Night' and painted their own starry night on tinfoil. They experimented with printing techniques to add a feather like texture to their owl pictures. Our next big book was 'Whatever Next' by Jill Murphy. The girls had lots of fun at home making rocket ships. They were so proud to bring them into school, show them to their friends and play with them at our astronaut station. A big thank you to family members for their assistance.
