Chemical Reactions
During our final Science lesson with Mrs Wilkinson, from Hazelwood Integrated College, our Primary Six girls learned all about chemical reactions. The first experiment was making Elephants’ Toothpaste - this was an exothermic reaction creating heat during the reaction. Then the girls had the chance to create their own endothermic reactions using some household supplies. They used bicarbonate of soda, white vinegar, a balloon and a bottle. The girls were surprised to see that by mixing the vinegar and bicarbonate of soda they created a reaction which blew up the balloon. We have had such great fun during our science lessons. A huge thank you to Mrs Wilkinson and Ms Cooper.
